Ingredients

  • Fresh Tuna Steaks
  • Butter or Margarine
  • Cajun Seasoning

Instructions

  1. Cut tuna steaks to 3/4" to 1" thickness.
  2. Soften 1/2 stick of butter or margarine.
  3. Pre-heat a heavy cast iron frying pan.
  4. I prefer to place the pan on an outdoor charcoal grill.
  5. It gets hotter and the blackening process creates a little smoke.
  6. Brush softened butter on each side of the tuna.
  7. Sprinkle on McCormick Cajun Seasoning or pre-mixed blackened fish
  8. seasoning.
  9. Cook over very high heat for about 2 minutes per side.
  10. Best when cooked to medium doneness.
  11. I found this easy recipe to be superior to grilling over direct heat which
  12. tends to dry out the fish.
  13. The butter and seasonings quickly harden to a crisp coating sealing in
  14. moisture.
  15. Great on a soft kaiser roll with lettuce and tomato.
