Class AClear visual encounter. The witness directly saw the subject or observed a figure with enough detail to describe shape, movement, size, behavior, or distance.
Class BStrong indirect evidence. Tracks, vocalizations, knocks, odors, movement, or other signs were reported, but there was no clear visual sighting.
Class CSecond-hand or low-detail report. The account is brief, older, indirect, or does not include enough detail for a stronger classification.
Class DUnverified or needs follow-up. The report was submitted but lacks enough information, location detail, or evidence for review.
HistoricalOlder archival report. Useful for research and mapping, but usually harder to verify with modern follow-up.
